Paraprofessionals

Dependable Staffing is seeking Paraprofessionals who will provide 1:1 classroom assistance to teachers and students with special needs in a traditional day school setting. Paraprofessionals at Dependable Staffing provide valuable educational services to the teachers and students we serve.  

Paraprofessional will be responsible for assisting the classroom teacher by following and reinforcing individualized educational, behavioral, social and communication supports to students in special needs classrooms. This may include classroom, small group and specifically 1 to 1 direct interaction with students. Paraprofessionals play an important and rewarding role working with Special Education Teachers ensuring that each student is able to achieve their educational goals.

Job Duties Include:

• Maintaining a safe classroom environment for all students and staff.
• Assist students with personal self-care as needed.
• Observing and correcting behaviors as directed by teacher.
• Provide a supportive educational environment for students.
• Document progress notes of student Individual Education Plans (IEP).
• Ensure students are supervised at all times in accordance with program requirements.    
• Help students improve skills in academic areas as directed by the teacher.
• Help students develop and improve social interaction skills.
• Accompany teacher and students to various community activities.

Mandatory Job Qualifications:

• High School degree/equivalent
• Passing score on Paraprofessional exam (provided free of charge for qualified applicants).  
• CPI Training class (provided free of charge for qualified applicants).
• A minimum of one year working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
• Prior classroom Paraprofessional experience preferred.
• Valid and clear Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Valid and current CPR and First Aid
• Must enjoy helping others and commit to being a dependable addition to the classroom.
