Special Education Teacher Assistant

Dependable Staffing places Teachers’ Aides in schools to assist teachers in providing students with a safe and rewarding educational environment.
As a Dependable teacher’s aide, you will be responsible for assisting the teacher in providing the individualized behavioral, social and educational support to students with unique learning challenges. Opportunities to interact in classroom, small group or 1 to 1 settings with students are available. Qualified candidates will play an important and rewarding role working with the classroom teacher to ensure that each student is able to achieve their individualized educational goals.
Duties Include:
• Encouraging positive behaviors as directed by classroom teacher.
• Aides in providing a supportive educational environment for students.
• Insuring a safe and positive classroom environment for all students.
• Assist students with care as needed.
• Record progress records for student Individual Education Plans.
• Properly supervise students at all times as directed by classroom educator.
• Help students develop and improve social interactions between students.
• Assist teacher and students with various daily classroom activities.
• Help students improve academically and behaviorally as instructed by the teacher.
Mandatory Qualifications:
• Classroom experience preferred.
• High School degree or equivalent.
• Para Pro passing score (provided free for qualified applicants).
• CPI Training (provided free for qualified applicants).
• One year of experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
• Valid clean Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Current CPR and First Aid.
• Dependability, punctuality and positive attitude a must.
